저는 살면서 처음 들어봤지만 꽤나 유명한 트위치 스트리머라고 해요.

본명은 오영택(Oh Young-Taek) 으로

('ve never heard of him in my life, but he's a pretty famous Twitch streamer.
His real name is Oh Young-Taek.)

 

트위치 스트리머, 유튜브 크리에이터,

그리고 왁 엔터테인먼트의 설립자 겸 CEO인 총괄 프로듀서입니다.

2016년 일본에서 만들어진 인터넷 방송 장르로,

실제 사람이 아닌 2D 혹은 3D 캐릭터를 등장시켜 방송을 진행하는

인터넷 방송인을 말한다 합니다.

(It is an Internet broadcasting genre created in Japan in 2016.
Broadcasting with 2D or 3D characters rather than real people
I mean internet broadcaster.)

 

우리가 흔히 블로그 대표 이모티콘으로 부캐를 디자인해서 쓰시는 분들 굉장히 많을 텐데,

그 캐릭터를 내 부캐로 해서 유튜브를 진행하거나 게임 스트리밍을 하는 사람들을 뜻해요.

(There must be a lot of people who often design and use bukkae as the representative blog emoticon,
I mean people who host YouTube or game streaming with that character as my sub character.)

 

우왁굳은 이러한 대한민국 최고의 버츄얼 유튜버입니다.

(Wow, this is Korea's best virtual YouTuber.)

 

 

우왁굳은 맨 처음에는 본인이 좋아하는 게임을 사람들과 같이 하며 상호작용 콘텐츠를

트위치와 유튜브로 제작하고 있었다 합니다.

그렇게 진행을 하다 우리 좀 더 소통을 해볼까?라는 생각이 들어

그럼 일반 채팅창 말고, VR 판에서 각자의 캐릭터를 가지고 소통을 해보자!라고 마음을 먹었다 하죠.

As I progressed like that, I thought, Shall we communicate more?
Then, instead of the normal chat window, let's communicate with each other's characters in the VR version!)

 

하지만, 다들 아시다 싶이 선입견과 같은 게 심한 우리나라에서

소위 일본 오타쿠 문화인 만화, 게임, 애니메이션과 같은 하위문화에 속하는 서브컬쳐 인 곳에

아무나 막 들어오면 입장이 좀 그러니

이러한 문화를 잘 아는 검증된 사람들끼리만 모이자! 하며 만들어진 게 고정 멤버 라고 합니다.

(However, as everyone knows, in Korea where prejudice is severe
Where it is a subculture that belongs to the so-called Japanese otaku culture, such as manga, game, and animation.

그렇게 고정멤버, 줄여서 고멤들이 모여 컨텐츠를 만들었는데요!

프로듀스 101, 슈퍼스타K와 같은 VR 오디션을 만들어 오디션 컨텐츠를 진행한게

우리가 현재 알고 있는 "이세계 아이돌" 이라고 하죠.

(That's how the fixed members, for short, the high members gathered to create content!
I made a VR audition like Produce 101 and Superstar K and conducted the audition content.

징버거, 주르르, 릴파, 고세구, 비챤, 아이네 6명의 인원이로 구성된 버추얼 걸그룹입니다.

VR이라 해서 대충 장난일 거라 생각하는 분들이 있을텐데!

대체 얘네가 무슨 인기가 그렇게 있을까? 하시는 분들도 있을 수 있는데

엄연히 정식으로 노래를 발표해 노래하는 아이돌 가수라 합니다.

이 세계 아이돌의 6멤버 모두 개인 방송을 하며 커버 곡도 발표하는 등의

활발한 활동을 이어가고 있는데요!

처음에 이를 개최한 우왁굳 조차 왁타버스 채널에서 "이 세계 아이돌" 프로젝트를 시작할 때까지만 해도

성공 확률이 0.2% 조차 안될 거라 생각했었다 하네요.

(Even Uwak, who initially held it, started the "Idol in another world" project on the Wakta Bus channel.
I thought the probability of success was not even 0.2%.)

 

버츄얼 유튜버의 세계는 이제는 더 이상 서브컬쳐로만 존재하지 않으며

기존 산업과 미디어에 새로운 통로를 제공해 준, 이제는 대세가 되었다 합니다!
